The Hatcher Group is seeking a driven and enthusiastic Senior Staff Accountant who strives to ensure operational excellence. The Senior Staff Accountant will be expected to manage the daily financial processes of the firm. We are looking for someone who understands the mission and vision of our firm, while delivering quality in the firm’s daily financial functions. The ideal candidate will be able to identify efficient process improvements, value accuracy and timeliness, and prioritize excellent customer service. This role has high visibility and will be collaborating with firm leadership to proactively solve problems.

The target salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and internal equity. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities for the firm including accounts payable, and general ledger/journal entries. 
  • Complete monthly credit card and bank reconciliations. 
  • Assist with bi-weekly payroll, 401(k) administration, and other benefits support. 
  • Execute contract administration via Monday.com, Sage Intacct, and Databasics. 
  • Assist in annual insurance renewal process. 
  • Assist with documentation for annual tax preparation. 
  • Perform ad hoc requests as requested by supervisor or firm leadership. 
     

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with at least 4 years of direct experience.   
  • Prior experience with federal government contracts is highly desirable. 
  • Excellent Excel skills (pivot table, complex formulas, Vlookup, and modeling) 
  • Previous experience using Sage Intacct is preferred.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Strong work ethic and ability to independently manage workload. 
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage firm deadlines. 
  • Flexibility to quickly adapt when other high priority needs cause priorities to change.
